Highlights from the Winnipeg workshop:

Enhance Your Sexuality

Workshop Review by Jo-Anne Wuziuk

(With a tip of the hat to team members input)

How much healing and love can be packed into a weekend?  It felt like a lifetime’s worth.

We started off Thursday night, open to the general public, with a personal survey on what may have created challenges to our sexuality.  Valuable information was given to those in attendance.  Thursday was also a sampling of Kelly’s facilitation style and an explanation of what the weekend experience could be like.

The open and accepting communication about sex created safety for us to open our emotional bodies and share deeply throughout the weekend.

Through the use of guidelines, which were agreed upon by the group, we created a level of safety and acceptance to be able to explore areas around our sexuality we may not have explored fully before.

As we explored and shared our wounds, our losses, our desires and our relationships we learned how we all have the gift of being sexual healers.

A participant worked through the pain and grief of a relationship that ended, realizing that fear of processing the grief had been stopping them from stepping into a new relationship.

A participant worked through a list of what would be the characteristics of an ideal or suitable partner. We learned that we don’t accidentally draw people into our lives. We draw people into our lives for mutual growth and to deepen our ability to love.  We explored the importance of being the qualities we hoped to attract in a partner.  The participant felt much more hopeful of creating a healthy, loving relationship.

One of our participants worked through their history of sexual abuse and the resulting shame around sex and sexuality.  Through a process of role-playing, they were able to confront their abusers and come to a place of healing their self-worth.  They regained their personal power around their sexuality.  The process then moved to visioning what a future relationship could look like and setting intentions for creating those relationships.  The process impacted many people and the group experienced a joint cathartic experience.

A participant worked through their feelings about asking their child to leave home.  This surfaced feelings of abandonment.  Time was spent identifying the gifts of the child.  Once the parent could see that the child had more than enough gifts to take away from the family home, the parent could trust their child’s ability to use those gifts to create their own personal journey out in the world.

Another participant learned how to create their own safety when afraid by speaking their truth rather than remaining silent.

When one becomes confident in speaking their truth they don’t need to fear being devoured or losing their identity because they can voice a “no” or choose what they want rather than giving their power away.

Participants learned about the meaning of unconditional love – that it is not something you have to earn, prove or perform for.  You can just receive it.

As individuals, and as leaders, if we fear the loss of control and remain closed to the suggestions and feedback of those around us, we may miss the opportunity to ease our burdens.  We may not see that there are many that love us and support us.  If we are open to listening, to experimenting with change, to fully receiving the love and support that is offered to us, while utilizing discernment, we can regenerate, morph, and grow into the fullness and the greatness of the truly successful, loving souls we are.

Mixed in with all of the growth work was a lot of fun, laughter, play, movement and dancing.

Thank you to all those who have supported these workshops.  Your contributions of time, energy, supplies, finances, encouragement, and love have touched many hearts.  You have made a difference to those moving through healing, growth, and improving their lives.  Thank you to the Team for your efforts.  Without you, these workshops could not happen.  Without your support, I could not do what I do.  Thank you Kelly, for teaching me how to open my heart; how to express the love that is within me; how to receive fully the love that is around me; and how to live a richer life.  Because of your dedication, your willingness to share your experiences, and your example of using love as a foundation in all your interactions, my life has become more loving.

When we heal ourselves it has a huge impact on those around us.  It’s been quite an adventure.  I look forward to joining you all in our next joint experience.

Love & hugs,

Jo-Anne
