Releasing
Stress
Create
Vitality Even In the Midst
Of
Challenge, Loss and Change

To
stress, or not to stress. If
only it was that easy. I’m
sure everyone can relate to this topic.
As
some of you may already be aware. Kelly
Tobey and the team members started preparing for this workshop months in
advance. I would like to
acknowledge, and sincerely thank Kelly for sharing his insight and
wisdom with all of us. Your
style is like no other. I
always feel safe, and loved, and even with all my pain and shame I never
feel judged by you.
Also,
thank you, to our loving team members.
Gord Moore, who co-sponsors with me here in Winnipeg thank you
for all that you do!!!!
Diana
Delroy, Jo-Anne Wuziuk, Jennifer Thompson and Ian Fraser.
With your love and dedication, your great ability to create a
loving safe environment for all, we were able to explore deeply and
truly grow and blossom. Thank
you so much.
Thursday
evening was received with a wonderful turn out after so much care was
taken in planning. It was
so nice to see so many of you interested in this topic.
Let’s face it we all deal with some level of stress, in
different areas of our lives. I
bet some of you even stressed about getting to the hall Thursday night.
On
Thursday Kelly talked about relationships starting in “Romance” then
moving into “Power Struggle”. The “Power Struggle” generates
huge amounts of stress and if it is not addressed with healing and
awareness it can become so intense that in order to avoid the struggles
the couple will either end the relationship or move into the “Dead
Zone”. Now tip-toeing around each other avoiding any triggers at all
cost; which also means they avoid intimate connecting. Living together
without really being together.
He
also talked about being true to who we are at the core > our true
flavor. Not living a life focused on winning approval from others but
living a life of integrity so we can approve of ourselves. If we are not
being true to ourselves then we are creating internal conflict that
creates stress.
Because
of our uniqueness we may be attracted to some flavors and uninterested
in others. As well some people will be attracted to our flavor and
others not. Some like strawberry, some like vanilla, some like
chocolate. No flavor is better or worse than another, each just happens
to attract different people.
Once
we discover and are true to our own flavor we can attract in
relationships with people that enjoy that flavor. With this we have a
foundation for being true to our self within relationships with others.
Of
course I am barely touching the surface of the details and conversation
that Kelly shared that evening.
We
also worked on a handout “Life Change Survey” This handout was
geared to help us with our stress list.
From this handout I was given a clearer picture as to where my
stress level was at.
My
stress level was pretty high!! I
wasn’t surprised by this, but excited that by attending the workshop I
would be given some ideas and tools to works with, to lower my stress
levels.
Friday
night we spent some time learning about the different archetypes. The
Sage, the Sovereign, the Warrior and the Lover. How they can work
together when they are all balanced.
A
handout listed qualities of each archetype. Each archetype consisted of
the possibilities of deflated – mature- and inflated aspects.
I
was surprised by my results. I
had several check marks in the inflated and deflated column.
So now my goal is to live from the mature archetypes, which
alleviates any stress created by the dysfunctional patterns that play
out when the archetype is inflated or deflated.
Saturday
one of the processes focused on love languages, and what is our love
list. How do we receive love?
How do we express our love to someone?
Are we giving in sacrifice, or from a true place of love?
Do we understand our partners love language and how do they
express love for us? Are we
receiving their love? What
are our expectations?
Another
process that day focused on nurturing ourselves. Our Inner mother /
inner child. This process
in particular touched me deeply. I
know I want to spend more time nurturing myself.
Loving myself and doing loving, caring things for myself.
I
was able to share in my small group ways I can and will nurture myself. My small group also supported me by listening fully to what I
had to say. Then they
shared some suggestions. This
is one of the many things I love about Kelly’s workshops.
I get a chance to have a voice, and I get a turn to be heard, and
loved and supported.
On
Sunday a process was on what we saw as being lovable and what we
perceived as being unlovable. When we are stuck in feeling unlovable it
surfaces a fear of being abandoned, a fear of loss.
The couple sharing their process with the group each felt
unlovable for their own reasons. Kelly
invited them to make a list of what traits they love about each other;
and then to own their own lovability.
After
sometime, Kelly asked the couple if they would be willing to sit across
from each other to connect on a heart energy level.
What a beautiful sight, to see two people loving each other, just
by looking at each other. At
this point no words were spoken. Yet
they were saying so much to each other!!!!
I
felt honoured to witness such a beautiful, loving connection between two
people. It raised an outpouring of emotion from those of us in the room
as each was touched in their own way.
After
bonding with each other this couple shared their loving blessings with
each individual participant. I
will cherish this loving blessing and keep this love close to my heart.
I was, and still am very touched by what I received.
As
the weekend was nearing its close, we shared in our small groups about
how we plan to apply what we have learnt over weekend.
We
had discovered how taking time to play is a huge stress buster.
Laughter and play can and does make such a huge impact in my
life.
So
what have I gained from this incredible workshop?
I will make more time for myself.
Make a love list for my partner and ask him to do the same.
Definitely bring more fun and play into my life, and continue
attending Kelly’s workshops.
I
will be traveling to the Edmonton area, July 22nd
to August 1st, for the 10-day Summer Retreat at
the beautiful River Lodge. Hope to see you there!!
That’s
it from me, for now. Cheers
and much love to you all!!!!!
