Highlights from the Winnipeg workshop:
Anyone
Can “Get By”
Why
Not Choose The Fulfillment of A
Workshop
Review By Jo-Anne Wuziuk
What
follows is a mere sampling of what took place at the Winnipeg workshop.
It is impossible to describe all the interactions, the changes,
and the shifts that occurred over the weekend.
I encourage you to attend a workshop and discover your own
personal adventure.
Thursday
night, open to the general public, started off the weekend with
exploring recurring patterns in our lives.
Valuable information was given to those in attendance.
Thursday was also a sampling of massaging, Kelly’s facilitation
style and an explanation of what the weekend experience could be like.
Friday
we went over and agreed to guidelines that helped create the safety
necessary for us to open our emotional bodies to work through our
challenges. Some of us experienced our bodies resisting moving forward by
creating pain and fatigue in our bodies.
By making our choices from a true centered space, we were able to
open to the possibilities of healing.
It
was empowering for me to be able to connect with my small group and find
out I was not alone in this adventure I chose to take.
I am grateful for the support and insights I received.
I
was able to work through some of my stuff to be willing to step forward
towards a more authentic connection with my loved ones and myself.
I dedicated to myself to be willing to remain open hearted and
take the next step.
Saturday
started off with movement and dancing.
There was plenty of fun and laughter this weekend.
We
were asked to explore the core values and aspects we value in others.
It’s easier to see these in other people.
What we value in others is actually what we value in ourselves.
We
then began the process of refining and filtering these qualities into
aspects of purpose. We then
looked at how these fit into each area of our lives.
I
found out that if I do things in my life from a place of sacrifice, I
will compensate with addictive behaviours.
Large
group work, small group work, one-on-one conversations, and journaling
helped me become clearer with what I was dealing with, personally. I received new ideas, support, and hope for my future.
Sunday
I witnessed two individuals come together to express their love and
commitment to each other. This
was a catalyst for me to be free to express emotionally and feel the
healing effect from this emotional release.
Because
of the safety I felt at the workshop, I was able to allow myself to open
to a deeper level of intimately connecting with others and allowing
myself to feel the bliss of loving and being loved.
We
explored the blocks we have towards expressing our purpose.
I received help from my small group, in the form of fresh ideas,
to help me move through these blocks.
I
was able to allow the kid in me to draw, play, and express.
I
left the workshop with a sense of direction and purpose.
Also, I left with deeper, more loving connections with those who were at the workshop. I felt loved and supported. I am truly grateful for my Kelly Tobey “family”.
