LOVE,
SEX AND COMMUNICATION
Workshop review by Cindy
Dextraze
The weekend was preceded
by a Thursday evening seminar.
The range of ages, the variety of
questions and the eager attentiveness of the participants attested to
the importance of relationship in our lives and our desire to improve
and expand our relationships.
We began the weekend by
exploring the grief associated with loss of relationship.
Next we became aware of
the mistakes we make in relationship.
We examined the need to release guilt, shame and punishment in
order that we might find self forgiveness.
Kelly helped us understand the need to take ownership of our
mistakes so that we can endeavor to avoid repetition.
We discovered that forgiveness is often achieved by making
sincere apology to self and/or another.
We witnessed how true
apology supports children/the inner child in freeing themselves from a
prison of confusion and resentment.
We had first hand experience of healing wounds that were a result
of our parents actions/attitudes. Through
this healing, we opened the possibility for deeper, more intimate
relationships in our present lives.
Sexual wounding was
exposed. This allowed for release of shame associated with sexuality so
that sexual expression can become a clear channel for intimacy in
relationship.
Rededication to love
(loving action or non-action) was the final step in the “procedure”
for handling our relationship mistakes.
I left the workshop with a keen sense of just how much I love to connect with others, how important my relationships are to me, how rich my life is because it is filled with many and varied relationships.
