Hand In Hand
By Kelly Tobey
for his loving partner Jerri-Lynn Morrison
Years ago Jerri-Lynn called me up to ask me out on a date.
This poem came to me a few months later as a response to what was
unfolding from that first call. Here it is many years later and these
words continue to be as relevant today as they were then.
A
phone call of transformation.
She
created and I responded,
Pushing
the first domino,
Nudging
the domino’s of my life events,
Each
gently falling into place.
We
create together now.
She
is the one for me now.
She
may be the one for me always.
She
dances on wings of grace.
She
hums the hum of contentment.
She
smiles the smile of love.
I
sample the fruits of her wisdom,
In
turn, passing my fruit to her.
In
acceptance we are nourished.
In
acceptance there is abundance.
I
offer my hand to her now,
That
we may stroll along together,
Embracing
the joys of life,
Embracing
the lessons of life.
There
is power in our union,
A
power rooted deep in love.
Lets
keep walking together Jerri.
