Books

Books are great tools but be clear of their limitations. I have met many people who have gained lots of great head knowledge through books and left it at that. To bring more joy and balance into their lives they still needed to make the next step of applying the information into real life. That cannot be done entirely with the intellect. It takes combining the mindful knowing with physical action, emotional intelligence, practical Spirituality and intuitive guidance. It takes experiential interaction with life. This is why well-conducted, interactive, workshops can really accelerate our learning by putting us in life situations to practice the application of theories.

Books can give a person a false sense of confidence, thinking that because they know something with their mind that they have “got it”. We have probably all, been at times, or met people who at times, arrogantly throw around theories yet have no grounding of living the theories out in an integrated manner in everyday life.
