Bodywork

I see the body as not only a vehicle to carry me around, but as a physical template of my many experiences. I find my body to be a library of all that I have been through, including experiences that I have lost conscious awareness of. Here are a few of the ways I choose to care for my body:

A.     Nutrition

There are massive amounts of information out about nutrition. In many cases the information is contradictory, yet both sides may swear that they are the right ones. As usual discernment is the key. I suggest listening to your body and to your intuition and give them weight over the many theories that are out there. Remember we are all individuals and what works for me may not work for you. My interest has turned more and more towards the benefit of superfoods. They are whole foods that come out of nature (preferably grown in the wild) that have extremely high concentrations of nutrients per weight. Two sources that have had the biggest impact on my body are:

1.     Cell Tech’s line of Super Blue Green Algae products (Their Alpha Sun, Omega Sun, Probiotics, Enzymes, Q10, and Super Sprouts with Algae)

2.     Pure Synergy a combination of superfoods formulated by Mitchell May.

B.    Dancing

I find that the movement of freeform dancing moves the energies through the body so they do not pool or stagnate anywhere. It can help in grounding into the appreciation of the physical form and into the accessing of creativity. For something that is so simple to do, it is very powerful, loosening, and invigorating.

   C.    Rock Climbing

This activity has been a powerful force in my life. For me it combines the physical (seeing, feeling, and smelling the beauty of nature / exercise), the emotional (fear, joy, peace, sense of accomplishment, being humbled, elation, and others), the mental (sorting out problems in moves and route finding / discerning timing and safety / facing fear), and the spiritual (experiencing the essence of nature / the sense of powerful awakenings / the sense of oneness with nature and the world). The focus required, centers me as intently as any meditation. My experiences rock climbing have contributed immensely to my personal and spiritual growth.

      D.   Massage

I find that massage is a wonderful way to care for the body. There are many styles of bodywork and energy work available. It is mostly about finding a practitioner and a style that suits your personal taste. I like to give massages as well as receive them. Beside myself, here are some other practitioners. These are ones I have enjoyed receiving from.
